Audition Information/Help
Auditions are Wednesday, September 8 and Thursday, September 9
The Milling Around audition process is fairly simple.
Auditions will be held in ROOM 108 (the Student Activities Center). We will put up some blocking on the windows so you do not have to worry about that.
Auditions will be ~10 minutes in length. (i.e. 10:00, 10:10, 10:20, etc..)
~~~What to Prepare
Preparation is key:
- Practice your song a cappella - there will be no piano or boombox to sing along.
- Sing your song for someone else - don't let the first time singing in front of someone be for the audition.
- Know how to calm your nerves.
- Plan your audition time with at least a few moments to spare (if you have a class that ends at 3:30 - don't choose a 3:30 time slot :-) ).
~~~What is the Audition like?
The audition will consist of a:
- Brief warm up/range check to see what your vocal range is.
- Brief verbal introduction of who you are and what you're like - nothing hard, we promise.
- Chance for you to show off how well you sing (a cappella song)
- try and choose a song that shows off your range/talents
- Don't choose Happy Birthday or Mary had a Little Lamb
- Chance for you to ask any questions you might have
A few more keys to think about...
Don't think this is just a group to join for fun. Sure, lots of fun will be had, but there will be a lot of hard work too.
Also don't worry about the audition. A trained musician can hear over audition jitters.
